Yes, it is a good engine. For a Civic, which is a fairly light vehicle, it will offer plenty of zip with good fuel economy.
If it is like other Honda powerplants, it should also be robust and provide many years and miles of service.

There hasn't been a bad Honda engine since the CVCC Civics in the 70's.

Are you talking about the new civic motors because before 2000 there was no 140hp SOHC motor. And yes.

Yes this is a very good engine. just enough power and great on gas. not to mention SOHC's are great for turbo applications.
