You sound like a WONDERFUL mom hun! The simple fact that you are so concerned puts that into perspective.... Don't take offense to this. There maybe no reason, I have no idea how much time he spends with either parent but if dad is around after work only than he probably misses him.... Dont worry so much about it and consider the times he is w/ dad a nice little relaxing time for you

I don't know what it is, but you haven't given any reason to think it's because you're "a bad mom". Does his dad feed him? Maybe he associates you with food and cries because he wants to you to give him some. If dad doesn't feed him he doesn't expect him to. Are you breast feeding (I hope so!)?
I think you should not worry. Just be glad that your baby quiets for his dad. You will have plenty of contact with your son as the days and months go by. Dad does need some too. It's important for him to feel connected, especially if you are breastfeeding and he does not have a chance to participate in feeding (yet).

It's not you! My daughter was the same way. Maybe daddy is bigger, or softer or has a deeper voice. There's no way to know why he's the charms. Just be glad for the help. If you're having a hard time coping, talk to your doctor. I developed PPD and they say it's more common in moms that have fussy babies.

I don't think you're a bad mom. It could be anything from your smell (perfume/lotion/body spray) to the clothes you wear (does it irritate the baby's skin?). Does his dad hold him differently (and maybe more comfortably for the baby)? He could just be gassy. Good luck, being a mom is a hard enough job, I hope you figure things out quickly!!

I am going through a similiar situation. My 3 week old loves to scream bloody murder when she is with me, yet give her to her daddy and she is the perfect angel. I found out that she likes the security of his arms and he loves to cuddle her against his chest. I started doing this and she doesn't cry as much with me. Be patient and try different ways to hold him or soothe him when he is crying. Its nothing you are doing wrong and he's not overdosing on you I promise. Good luck with this!

Every night right before my sons dad gets home he starts screaming and nothing I do makes it better. Once he walks in the door and takes him, he is happy. I think he gets sick of me. But I know I am not a bad mom, and neither are you.

I think you are too stressed out about being a parentl and communicating your nervousness to the baby. Be glad that he is happy with his father and encourage it. Eventually you will relax and then he will only want you. Trust me, you will be wishing he wanted his father more in just a few weeks. Kick back, have a beer, and relax. Babies are tougher than you know.

No you're not a bad mum at all!!
Are you breast feeding? Sometimes breastfed babies just constantly associate their mother with milk and so its easier for dad to settle them as dad doesn't smell of delicious breastmilk!
We were told this by the midwife when our son was born and we found it very true! His dad can always settle his easier than I can.
How old is your little boy? Mine is 7 months and still settles better for his dad than for me. I think he still sees me as a Milk Bar!

Are you relaxed when you hold him? If dad is more relaxed than you he may sense that.
My daughter preferred women to hold her when she was an infant. Maybe he has a preferance to men for some reason.
I wouldnt give up, just let him know that you love him. Kisses and hugs to him.
