Migration pauses when the migrant finds a location which supplies his needs: food, water, shelter. If it is possible to migrate elsewhere, migration resumes when those supplies are diminished or depleted. Sometimes it is so difficult to move on - because of terrain, weather, predatory animals or competition with other humans - that people remain in an undesirable location for an extended period.

where America?

It didn't.native Americans are believed to have migrated From Eurasia(Russia)through the Bering Straight(I think) into North America(what's now Alaska) down the coast to South America. They filled in everything in between.

supposedly man walked out of Africa got to India somehow(reed boats) then every direction after that. Some Aborigines in Australia have the same DNA as people in India

because they were gathers and hunters so they had to constantly move to find food. but some people were able to farm so they stayed where they were...also the means of getting to America was an a massive ice bridge that went a crossed the baring sea and flooded at the end of the ice age and is now hundreds of feet bellow sea level.

Alternatively, about 10,000 years ago the sea level rose, inundating the connection between Asia and North America.
