I heard about a woman whose son was killed in Iraq, and during his funeral, she allegedly pulled the American flag off her son's casket and replaced it with the flag of Puerto Rico, since that's where he was from. Supposedly, she now has to go to court for disrespecting the American flag. Does anyone have a link to this story?

I heard about a woman whose son was killed in Iraq, and during the funeral, she allegedly went up to her son's casket, pulled off the American flag that it was draped in, and replaced it with the flag of Puerto Rico, where he was from.

I've also heard a different version where she allegedly slapped the folded American flag out of the Marine's hands as he was handing it to her, and then stood up and draped the casket with the Puerto Rican flag.

Either way, she's supposedly being charged for disrespecting the flag and now has to go to court. If this story is true, can someone please tell me who this woman is, or provide a link to the story?

I haven't seen this story -- or the law that she's alleged to have violated.

But it strikes me as a First Amendment issue.
