I mean many are on upper floors etc, is this encouraging folk to spill onto the street more?
How do they police it?
Excuse my ignorance but am a older hag now and have never been 'clubbing' since the ban.
What happens in clubs these days? - and yes have read about the shooting hence the Qn

Hi my sister was in Jillys in Manchester and they were letting smokers out 3 at a time! She got in the huge queue, but then thought better of it.
Edit. LOL Gobilina, dont swoon at my fella!

I also think it is downright dangerous for those that are on upper floors as you mention.
I think that hanging out of a window while your mate holds on to your legs just so that you can have a cigarette is asking for trouble. I mean, if your friend turns round to wave at a pretty girl or to reach for a drink....and lets go of your legs...well...it's a long way down.
Anyway, you're not an older hag....you've matured very gracefully....x
Addition:
It brings a whole new meaning to 'I'm just nipping outside for some fresh air'.....what do we say now?....'I'm just nipping INSIDE for some fresh air...'....lol
Edit: (or is that headhit)
Lol @ your comment about Kate etc - never thought of that!
Here, have a glass of lemonade, if you're gonna start swooning...lol.
Who, me? Or Pete?...lol

The clubs that I go to, let people out the fire exit, its enclosed as well, so there won't be people trying to get in. And its a bit more safe as well.
I'm not a smoker though, I just go out to get some fresh air while friends smoke

no smoking in clubs either, no smoking in any public place whatsoever so everyone does go outside and as a smoker myself it doesn't bother me at all because you get to meet other people whilst having a cig outside.....good point about the policing thing, i had never thought of that

Good question - I don't think moving people from a regulated environment to an unregulated one helps - Edinburgh's murder rate went through the roof after the ban. They had to form a special murder squad for that city.

thats exactly what i've been wondering !!
obviously smokers must be spilling out onto the streets which has got to be more of a challenge to police.
and there are the queues for re-admittance... drunken people queuing for their next nicotine fix...
receipe for disaster if you ask me.
in my opinion they should have reinforced the ban slowly... maybe starting with restaurants... then pubs... then clubs (?)

The smoking ban affects clubbers by making them live longer. Whether that is a good thing is debatable.

Well you don't go home reeking like other people's smoke. Its pretty much the same except smokers have to go outside.
