Way too small for an iguana, except maybe for a couple of months for a little baby. No waterfall--they need a pool to soak and poop in . Change water daily at least. They need UVB on for 12hours, and a heat lamp for same amount of time. A basking area at about 100F (use a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer only). Shelves and branches to climb. A fresh salad daily with vitamins. See www.anapsid.org for complete care. NO HEAT ROCKS--THEY WILL BURN YOUR REPTILES!!!!!!

I'd say NO to a waterfall! Buy some astro-turf, or fake plastic grass, and cut 2 pieces that you can put on the bottom of your tank. When it is time to clean the tank you can swap them out and clean the dirty one (outside with the water hose). Iguanas require sunlight to stay healthy because of the heat and UVA and UVB light that the sun's rays provide them, so I would get some full spectrum lights so it can bask. You may want a heat rock so they can control their body temperature and metabolism. Also, I'd put in some kind of decorative "hollow log" or rock so it can hide. Make sure to do plenty of research BEFORE you bring it home!!

All great advice above accept one detail. A 55gallon tank is way too small for an Iguana. Look into another, smaller species if you need to stay at the 55 gallon size.
