Now the defendants have filed for bankruptcy. My attorney tells me that "what ever is left over, is what we will get" they had property and other business's. Does anyone know the process and do I have any hope on collecting my money soon?????????

why haven't you been paid after five months? sounds very fishy. i hate to say it but maybe your atty took your money...i would suggest you go to the courthouse to try and independently confirm the status of your case. bring any documents you have relating to the case. sometimes attys take clients' money but tell them a story to string them along. you could also go to your nearest FEDERAL courthouse to confirm whether the defendant is really in bankruptcy. if that is in fact the case, i'm sure they have lots of other creditors besides you, and you wouldn't just get "whatever is left over" you would get pennies on the dollar, if that. .

That's the problem with lawsuits. It's one thing to win them. It's another to collect your award.

Hmmm . . . unfortunately, it is not looking good. Hopefully they have a lot of assets to be liquidated.

have court sieze all there property as of daye of court case.then court can order its sale
