I broke my leg and I'm really upset because I'm loosing so much time staying at home. I want to make this time useful but don't know what can I do while I'm not able to leave home(it's already awful because it's summer). My situation is bad enough, I want to make it better by doing somethin really useful or interesting but nothing comes to my mind right now, may be because I'm too upset. Can anybody help me, please? any ideas?

I am the perfect person to help you. I have been laid up for 8 MONTHS with knee problems! I spent about 5 of them in bed and the past 3 I have been able to get up and out of the house a bit, but I am still out of work. I had 3 surgeries that all had complications, so what I thought would be 3 months in bed turned into much more. Here are some things that I did...

*watched tv/movies (tv shows that I had never seen on DVD helped pass a lot of the time)
*read books
*took an online course for fun
*studied, took and passed a certification exam for work
*learned to knit
*sudoku
*puzzles
*card games/ board games
*scrapbooking
*wrote letters and e-mails to old friends
*spent a lot of time on yahoo answers : )

That is what I can remember for right now. 3 weeks is no time at all. It will fly by and you will be up and around before you know it.

y are u unable to leave the house???? people go out all the time with broken bones...
but some thing that u can do while stuck in the house are read a good book, watch dvds, play games on line, or even take a online course....
this would drive me crazy too because i hate doing nothing i would end up going out even if it ment not doing much once i got out but i would have to go out.....

as for not being able to do anything and being summer i know its a bummer. Been there doing that...

best of luck with your recovery

Learn to relax. Make yourself sit and watch tv or read. Also unless you have orders to stay off your leg you could clean house really deeply....as much as you can anyway.
It sounds silly, but I had to learn to relax. I felt if I was at home during the day I had to find something to do. There is a time when you just have to relax tho, and this is one of em.
Good luck!:)

Jump online, watch dvd's, meditate, do you have a wheelchair or crutches? if a wheelchair go to a local artist and get him/her to paint up your cast so it looks cool
