All-Star at two positions up the middle... and then he moved to center. 3,000 hits ALL for one team. (and in the age of the DH... he played the field his entire career!)

Erich, I said he was an ALL-STAR at two positions up the middle, then moved to center. That does NOT imply that CF is NOT up the middle. Rather, what it means is that he was NOT an All-Star in CF. But as we know... he was still pretty darn good!

No doubt. He has played all fielding positions, 3,000 hits, and is one of the most loved players in the game. Never seen him get ill-tempered, always putting his team's success before his individual success. His stats say the answer them self. Hell yes!!!!! He is even a first ballot.

Just wanted to point out to Erich S that there are in fact 2 players with 3000 hits that aren't in the hall of fame. Yes, one did test postive for steroids and isn't eligible yet and the other was banned for life.

As for Biggio, I think he will definately get into the Hall of Fame. Career .282 hitter, 3000 hits, over 400 stolen bases and almost 300 home runs. There will be those who argue against him as being nothing more that a "stat compiler". But if it was that easy to compile those kind of stats, don't you think more players would be able to do it?

The other key factor that will let him in is the "how did he compare to others at his position during his era" arguement. One only has to look at the 7 All Star games in 8 seasons to prove that point.

No doubt he will be a Hall of Famer. 3,000 hit club member and if he can manage to hit 14 more home runs (not likely but possible) he would become just the 7th player ever to have 300 homeruns and 300 stolen bases.

CF is also considered "up the middle", but I just want to be picky cause I don't like the guy. He's a no-doubt hall of famer for sure though.

Gotta think he is definitely a hall of famer. Gold glover, excellent hitter, all-star all for one team

He is the best 2nd baseman next to Joe Morgan.
