Yes, but it depends on the circumstances. Is this a first offence and does he have a good personal record (e.g. in school with good grades, working full-time, etc.). Hopefully, this is his first occurance. It really does depend on the situation, whether the prosecuting attorney reduced this from attempted murder and a number of other things, like is the judge in a good mood.

Only with a really good lawyer. You'll probably be lucky to find one for less than 10 grand. Looks more like you will spending time at the graybar hotel, lots of time.
