The green poop is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about at all. He won't really smile for another month or two. Don't follow those milestones too carefully, he'll do things in his own time.

He won't smile until around 2.5-3 months, and that's also when you'll notice he'll interact with you more. My son didn't smile until closer to 4 months so no worries there, he's still too young. About the poop, if he's going normally and the consistency is normal(like not small, hard pellets or the opposite like runny/diarrhea), then the green may just be the formula he's on or could just be normal for him. I wouldn't worry about it but bring it up at your next doctor appointment just to be sure. Good luck!

Poop comes in all colors as far as babies are concerned. When he starts eating solids, it will be whatever color the food was (orange = carrots, sweet potatoes, green = peas, green beans, etc.). As for the milestones, worrying about those too much can do more harm than good. I know it seems hard to believe, but he probably won't smile or make eye contact much for another month or two. Maybe more. Try not to worry. You can ask your doctor at his next check up for a chart of milestones, but I can tell you every baby is different. My son seemed to focus on one thing at a time and work on that, but so many milestones overlap. If you get really concerned about something call the doctor, but just know all healthy babies go at their own rate!
PS Newborns cannot really see farther than a foot or so, so it takes a while for him to start looking at things and actually being able to see them!

Bless your heart... I remember those days. My daughter is going to be 3 in November. I remember wondering if I was doing every thing right, if she was alright, is anything wrong... the whole nine yards. I applaud you for being a concerned mom. So often I see moms that just don't act like they care. Now to answer your questions... the poop is perfectly normal. They will change when he starts to eat cereal and baby foods. All babies do different things at different times. You are soon going to be seeing a smiling happy baby in the next couple of weeks. He will even start to try to make noises such as cooing at you before too much longer possibly. As weeks pass by, he will become more and more interactive with you. My only advice is to enjoy them while they are little. You don't want him to grow too fast because before you know it... he will be running through the house and talking non stop! They start to become more and more fun the older they get. My little girl is almost 3 but she acts as if she is 13. Children are the greatest thing ever! Enjoy being a mom, you sound like you are doing a wonderful job!

Green poop is normal my daughter is almost 3 months old and her poop is still green just darker. She is also formula fed. She also looks at toys but doesn't reach for them. She does bring both arms up when her pacifier falls, so she is learning! My daughter has always smiled but now it's a "social" smile she actually smiles back or smiles when she gets excited! Babies do everything at their own time! Don't worry. Good luck!

I am pretty sure green poop for a formula fed baby is normal...it is yellow if breastfed. Babies normally don't smile until about 6-8 weeks so don't worry, he will soon! Umm..around 1 month my son wasn't doing too much...he definitely noticed me and his daddy but other than that i think he just started looking at his mobiles. He will get more active in a few months.
Congrats!

Poop has many ranges...all is normal as long as it comes regularly. MY daughter is 3 1/5 months now ans in the pas month has really came out of a shell is is smiling and laughing all the time. I got her first real smile maybe about 6 or 7 weeks. I got one out of her every other day and then they come closer and closer together. It is awesome so just be patient. Milestones for one months is manly eye contact and possible head control. Check out yard sales or the library for books, they help sooth your worries. Just remember as long as he is eating well, pooping, peeing and sleeping he is probley healthy and on track.

If his poop is green it generally means that it went through his digestive system quickly. Chances are that as long as he is happy and gaining weight and eating appropriately and the doctor says all is fine, then it's just how his system works and if his system is working just fine, then that's all you need to know. Keep interacting with him and smile at him and coo at him and talk to him whenever you can. Reading to him is a wonderful way to interact with him and it has great benefits. Smiles will come before you know it and then he will smile really big for just about everyone when he's aobut 4 months old. But, first he will smile at you and you will melt. Dance with him and sing to him and read to him as much as you can. Get him his own supply of books. Get a lot because you will get tired of reading the same ones over and over. Before you know it, he will have favorite books that he wants you to read to him. Get some for just him to hold and have for just himself too that are made of cardboard so you don't have to worry about him wrecking them. Take him on walks and tell him everything you see. Talk to him when you are feeding him and changing him. You are just a few short weeks away from him really beginning to know just who you are and then he will make it clear that you are very very special to him.

Even though you don't think he is interacting with you, he really is. This is the most important time for bonding with your child. He knows you are there. He knows your voice, your touch, your love. You will know soon enough that you are his everything. About the green poop...Nothing to worry about. Very normal, but if you are still concerned take him in to the doctor. I know with my first child, the doctor, his staff and I got to know each other very well because I was in his office for every little thing. You probably won't stop worrying until you hear it from a doctor anyway. Enjoy your little bundle of joy. God Bless, Kellie
