There are many things that can cause your period to be irregular. Among them are stress, weight (too high or too low), how well you eat. So yes it's possible being a little overweight could cause your period to be irregular.
But I would encourage you to make an appointment with an OBGYN - gynecologist to be certain. It could be something else or might not. I started having irregular periods about the same age and I've found out that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This of course, may not be your situation, but I would check with your OBGYN to find out what it could be.

I reckon periods are the least of your worries if you weigh 1531 pounds!!

obesity can indeed cause irregular menstrual cycles.

yea this is a common problem .....can happen alot if you have a heavier build
