Because being "gay" is not just a matter of how you act. Being "gay" simply means you are attracted to people of the same sex. We have this view of what "gay" people act like, but generally speaking it is not true of everyone. You can act like John Wayne and still be attracted to other guys. You can act like Boy George and only love women. Different people, straight or not, act different ways. It is just a genetic condition that sways your attraction. Personality is only remotely linked to this.

Maybe because they haven't been taught an irrational fear of touching or getting close to another guy- for fear that they'll be branded as gay? Seriously, it could be that they're just secure in their sexuality, and don't think they have anything to prove to others, so they're just being themselves. Or, in some instances, it's pretty normal for a guy that is gay (or not sure) to test the waters with other guys to see where it leads. In other words, it really doesn't mean anything.

To pick up girls. A lot of girls (not me) are stupid and think it's cute and non-threatening for a man to act feminine. And then when their guard is down they "start to have doubts" or "want to experiment". Surprise, surprise...
It's actually kind of a clever ruse since the average guy will not act gay at any cost.

Unless they are engaging in sexual or romantic activity with another man, they are not acting gay. Some people think that acting feminine is acting gay, which is ignorance.

If they are literally acting with homosexual behavior, it could be to show comfortability with there heterosexuality, and in some cases to impress women.

I used to work at a museum, and one of my co-workers there would pretend to be gay so he could pick girls up, and tell them , "You were my first!" He used that at least half a dozen times while I worked there.

Gay guys often aren't afraid to express both traditionally feminine and traditionally masculine traits of themselves.

They could be joking. Straight guys seem to like to do that alot. Or they could just be expressing themselves without caring about gender rules.

I donno.

They are just horse playing, and sometimes they do have sex but it doesn't mean they are Gay, they might just be curious or Bi.
