register our young women with selective service? That is one of the most ridiculus propositions I have heard in a while (next to the one by Obama to make sex-ed a preschool issue). Are liberals pandering to the radical feminists? Women are the gentler sex, no doubt. Many do serve their country voluntarily, and I don't disagree with that unless they have children. But will our nation totally be turned on it's head by these types of ideas in the name of equality? Let's face it men in women ARE NOT EQUAL in a whole lot of obvious ways, though they have EQUAL VALUE in a healthy and successful society. The Western societies, under Judeo-Christian influence, have recognized this truth.
Is there something wrong with honoring the weaker sex in our society by protecting them? I say not! Whatever happen to chivalry?

I think I need to clear something up. It was those LIBERAL DEMOCRATS last night that endorsed requiring young women, at age 18, to register for the draft just as the men do.

There are a few choice words I'd like to say to the men on board that are for this type of "equality"- forcing a woman into battle. But, like Ann Coulter, I do fear I'd maybe have to go to rehab behind it.

Mr. Perfect, that you are! For YOUR wife anyway. I have my own "Mr. Perfect", a REAL man that would do the same for me as you would for your wife. I am blessed and very grateful for him, too!

Liberals have no idea how to distinguish between the role one might play and the value of that role. They think equality only comes when we are stamped out like robots and have the same exact abilities, skills and physical strength as the next person. My wife and I are very much different... thank goodness! She is super hot... I would not be attracted to... me. I like that she is the woman in our household. I think she is absolutely incredible! She can handle certain situations much better than I and vice versa. Men and women are different for a reason. They are given different personality tratis and skill sets for a reason. You can say the same about men obviously. This is why a traditional family has a much higher success rate when it comes to raising children and keeping family values. It is a fact!
Why do libs disgrace or downplay the abilities of women?
Look, I am all for a woman or a man being almost anything they want to be IF they are qualified and IF it is appropriate.
I never understood why some women just have the desire to and the drive to be a man rather than showing the world not that she can be just like a man, but how great of a woman she can be.
Men should be the ones to protect their women. Women should never have to see some of the things that men have to see. I would protect my wife at ALL costs.

Oh please, the gentler sex? We can fight with the best of them. We aren't fragile. If men have to fight, why shouldn't women. It's very sexist to think only men should fight for this country. Give me a break, the pioneer women of this country were a tough stock of women. My god, what century are you trying to bring us back too? I protect myself, I don't need to be treated like a child. There are many women in the military today and they do quite well. Not to say there isn't sexism in the military but that can change. In Israel, if you are 18 and a woman you have to serve in the military just like an 18 year old male.
BTW. selective service is not the same thing as the draft.
ILconservative.... since when is anger an unhealthy emotion? The way our country has been going since Bush took office, it's not just liberals who are angry. And, they damn well should be angry.

I understand your frustration but you have to understand that while some women embrace these differences between gender some just want to be treated the same way which is right but i think what you wanted to say was that sometimes they take it way too far (don't be surprised if they start talking about a WNFL) but that's always been the case modern day feminism as little to do with gender unequilty and more today with man hating and simple anger

Women are really quite strong. Man may work from sun to sun, but woman's work is never done. Remember also, hell has no furry like a woman scorned. Most police women say they would rather fight a man any day rather than fight a woman. Women live longer and have faster reaction times than men. They would also be better fighter pilots and more are finishing college than men. Most of the wealth is in the hands of women. ~

if there is draft, i support women being part of that system. what you obviously don't realize is that women are not allowed to be in combat positions. they are kept from special forces, artillery, armour, and forward air defence. so honestly all this cr@p about the weaker sex as pertaining to the draft is nonsense. the military already holds a stance that women are not equal and so treats them according to that belief.
seriously, do your research before you rant.

I'm a woman and I would rather go fight than see my brother go. It's simply common sense that women should be held to the same obligations as men with regard to selective service. I believe in it for the same reason I believe in paternity leave.
Neither sex is the "weaker sex" and neither needs to be protected. As a woman, I'm insulted that anyone would say that. I am not weak and I do not need to be protected. Women are not babies. I'd be just as insulted if I were a guy and somebody said men needed to be "protected."

I agree with you 100%. Remember it wasn't the conservative lady that claims to be a man but the lib wo-MAN.
I still enjoy my feminity and the covering my husband gives me.
I say if a lib wants to fight with the best of them (I guess she is speaking about men) then I say let the boys fight. But for the ladies that desire to stay home and raise their kids, a big God bless ya.
I will be the first to NOT deny a liberal woman her Manhood.

I mean I do not agree with a draft but if there was one women should have to serve because we have equal rights....we can vote and become president...so we should have to serve our country just like men do....to say women being the "gentler" sex can prevent us from serving our country is rediculous and old fashion

Here is the notion behind this.
1) Israel does it. If you are able bodied, male or female, gay or straight, you're serving. This way you always have enough troops
2) We as a country will think twice, maybe even three times before sending our sons and daughters to war, especially if everyone's sons and daughters are going.
Is it a good plan? Personally I don't like it. I have daughters and if they were put in harms way for a fools errand, I can't tell you how upset I'd be. I'd make Cindy Sheehan look like Mrs. Brady.

ya can't have it both ways honey.
Why then should women be allowed to vote?
Voting is choosing a Commander in Chief.
There are many men who object to the killing that is going on, but a draft would make them fight, just like it did during the VietNam conflict.
if you really don't want to be subject to a draft, you should vote Democratic and get away from the party of WAR
Yes and YOU CAN thank libs for it
it being equal rights for women AND the right to vote for women. If it were up to the Republicans you'd be chained to your stove or bed.
