very true munkeyluv. i think if the govt. is going to turn their back on American people then it is up to the American people to survive the best way they can. and the doctor and nurses of that hospital should of been top priority. after four days!! they waited and nothing came, how long were they to let those people suffer. if my grand mother was there, suffering, STARVING, dehydrated, with no more sanitary napkins for her to soil in.... i'd personally had put her to sleep and send her "home".

I could not imagine what it was like for the doctors and nurses watching those people suffer in Katrina conditions. Its not so simple as saying "they killed them, its wrong" Because if it was me suffering under those conditions, I probably would think it was compassionate and merciful to end my suffering. I can't judge anyone's actions during those days post disaster. I am sure a lot of people did things that they would not normally do under normal conditions after Katrina.

Figures as much. The whole thing is a big ol' ugly stain on the fabric of America.

We were not there and really do not know the amount of fear that was circling there during that time...some of the most awful travesties against humankind were commited that weekend. Its horrible. Hellatious even. And so very unfortunate...to have to die that way. To me that way was without dignity. A shame....

Great thought provoking question!

One can't judge it unless you were here. It was insane, like we were on another planet for a week or more in some cases. Those doctors had no a/c, ran out of meds, had no plumbing, it was probably the worst case scenario one could imagine. They were heros and they did what they could for those patients. i could not imagine having to pick and choose who should be save and who should wait for the next helicopter. It was a mess

I guess there was not enough evidence to bring it to trial and get a conviction. Here is a link to the most recent story

did anyone see the "Boston legal" about this? Those people were suffering and the monumental stress the med staff was under... what was the alternative?

I'm thrilled that there will be no charges. My opinion of the doctor and nurses...? Heroes.

i haven't heard about it. Do you mean the doctors neglected the patients or they were responsible for actually killing people?
