Very tough to compare. David's style is much more different than Jimi's. Jimi's is a more free-flow, jam-based style, with blues. Gilmour's is a more melodic, theme-ish, bluesy style. Jimi plays much faster than David, which doesn't mean Jimi is better, by any means. Pink Floyd and Jimi were the first to rock and roll bands that I got in to, as a kid. I've been studying them for a while. And I'm a guitar player, and I can tell you Jimi Hendrix's music is MUCH harder to play than Pink Floyd. It's just tough to compare either one, as they're so different. Both are amazingly accomplished guitarists though..
Now, I think the best guitar player, currently, is Trey Anastasio. No doubt. The guy is a friggin' genius...

i listen to Floyd more but there's no doubt that Hendrix is just as good!

hendrix hands down!! Floyd is an awsome band and their contributions can't be ignored, but hendrix was innovative, and redefined the way people made music, and played guitar. in short the man was a pioneer.

hendrix is a ledgend, but floyd made an album to the wizard of oz, and i can name plenty of floyd songs, can u name any hendrix? prolly not, so floyd all the way!
