Actually, according to the Mayan calendar, which is the most accurate in the entire world, even today, they predicted the end of the world would be in the year 2012. I suppose they may refer to another flood, seeing as how the Ross Ice Shelf is close to breaking off. At twelve to fifteen hundres square kilometers in size in almost two miles thick if it were to break off and sail into the worlds ocean, by the time it melted totally all of the world's oceans and rivers would rise 47 feet. That would make the Mississippi River about 400 miles wide and the Eastern United States would be a separate country. All of the coastal cities and most of the islands in the world would disappear. Since almost 60 per cent of the world's population lives on coastal plains you can imagine how many people would die. And loss of food, disease and fighting with one another to survive would account for another 20 to 30 per cent of the deaths. So, pretty much, I would say that would be the end of the world. At least as we know it. Which makes me happy, because I still don't like TV and how to use a cell phone.

That depends, if the red state idiots vote for another republican than yes. If not then the world keeps ticking for 4 more years. But that would bring us to 2012 and another election, so I guess either date could be correct. Depending on if the American people want to keep living in a war torn excistance.

Actually...I heard 2012 also, but if it's 2008 we should get busy doing some serious partying before it gets here! Seriously, I agree with someone else, only God knows and it's probably not meant for us to try to predict.

Of course I know the world is coming to an end. The saying if something seems to be to good to be true, it probably is. Everything we have at our fingertips is too good to be true, but yet we still want more and more and more. Nothing will ever be enough for humans. We are here to destroy the earth as the animals have known it for thousands and thousands of years.

it may come to an end in 2008 when bush is out of office and he incites a mass world riot. then yeah, it will come to an end in 2008. the mayans 2012 calc was incorrect b/c they gave us too much credit. they fig'd there was no way in blue hell we'd elect his stupid a$$ into presidency. let alone twice.

I think that theory is kind of defunct considering their world and civilization came to an end around 900 AD

2012.
And why worry about it. If it does happen, there isn't much we can do about it in the long run, eh?
Besides, I think Bruce and Ahnold are getting a little too old to be saving the world again.

the mayans believe that the world would end in 2012... not 2008, & they didn't necessarily think it would end, their calenders just end on that year.
