dont you think that it is stupid that burgulars can rob your house and if your beat them up they take you to court and try and sue you it's ridiculous?????

I argued against this all the time in law school, and my LIB professors always would just end the dialogue.

Did you break the law when attacking them? Yes.
Do you have a legal defense? Yes.
That's the way the law works. If you break the law, you can be sued. If you did it for valid reasons, you win and the other person has to pay for the legal expenses.
If you want to try and come up with a better legal system, that addresses all the possible permutations, I'd be happy to work with you on writing it up.
