yes & it was an absolute disaster. Butter was everywhere- it kept slipping and sliding all over the freaking counter. When I tried to stick the basting thingy in it, the juice when everywhere but where I expected it to go. It got in my eyes & mouth & all over my clothes.

Rubbed it down. A ham. Put a dry rub on it before cooking it

I used to make pizza...I'd smack the dough, flip it into shape and rub it to perfection...

My friends Michael & Rickey used to do that after moving to the Jacuzzi.
They would do it in the morning. They would do it in the night. They did it when they wanted to do it.
