While small business owners aren't rich, they appear rich on their taxes and pay a burdensome amount to the government each year. Tax laws punish burgeoning entrepreneurs.
And by the way, who gets to decide what a person's "fair share" is? That's such a meaningless phrase. To the small business owner, I'm sure "fair share" means "less fluid capital to keep my business open" and "less chance that I'll stay afloat this year."
Business owners in general are the lifeblood of the American economy. While I think all involuntary taxes are unjust, we should at least compromise on reducing the taxes all business owners have to pay in order to benefit the American worker, otherwise businesses will close down and go to other countries where the taxes and regulations aren't so oppressive.

This is a generalization - people are not jealous and/or hate the rich. Some may, but that is their option.
I wish anyone well, am proud when people succeed, even happier when they give back to the community, and help charities.
I think to place all rich and non rich into either of these two categories is not a fair assumption. If you have references to quote, please do so, so that we may have a better understand of what you mean.

I don't hate the rich. I study them in hope of learning how to take one of my ideas over the top. People who inherently hate the rich either are waiting for them to help them, which won't happen or are unclear as to whether their fortune was created fairly.
I had a boss about 5 years who always wanted and finally bought a Ferrari. I wondered about the excess at first but after learning how he far he travelled to get this prize (He was an auto detailer who started a repair company with some electronic parts, a phone and a notepad. That company went national after 10 years) I began looking at how he was able to make that happen for himself and also learned from working for him that I can launch my dream company too. And if I have a young Sys admin that asks one day "Why the boss gets to drive around in a vintage thunderbird?" hopefully Someone can relay to him how I built my company from nothing to something that makes millions.

Most of the really rich people got their money walking up the backs of other people because they are greedy. Their values leave a lot to be desired. Or they inherited the money and have NEVER had to work. Mostly they do not deserve the money they have. They really do not live up to the traditional expectations of American society.

AP the hatred of the rich is simple; they don't hand out enough. The poor don't want a job they want a hand out. Sure 70% of the jobs are provided by small business - they don't want jobs they want taxes so the socialist leaders will give them free health care, free retirement, free housing and the list is going on and on.

Small business owners aren't "the rich".
Republicans always cry and moan that Dems want to give handouts to lazy poor people but never answer the issue of all the handouts the GOP has given to oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, credit card companies, and health care companies through favorable legislation at the expense of the American public.

I agree. Many of these small business owners work their 6-7 days per week, and deserve everything they have. People are just jealous because they don't have the same work ethics, and are lazy.

The wealthiest in our country pay the majority of the taxes already people! If you are not jealous of the wealthy, why do you want them to get punished even more than they are? For the most part, the wealthy have worked hard to get where they are. I have nothing but respect for people who have worked hard to get where they are.
