... and more handouts in their pocket.

Does this remind you of someone who cares about other people or about someone who is greedy if they can gain a buck?

If republicans are greedy, this sure makes the Dems seem greedy too.

If republicans only care about themselves, Dems sure seem to only care about themselves.

Homeless people go hungry in San Francisco while the city government subsidizes sex changes. I know it doesn't make any sense, but I don't think socialism's supposed to.

Wow. Not FREE healthcare. Nothing is free unless you are a friend of Cheney's. We Libs would like there to be universally available healthcare for every legal person in the US, at rates they can afford. Ideally, we'd pay more tax and there would be a system whereby we can walk into any hospital, care center or docs office and actually get care. Like Canada. Like England. So many other countries do this, why can't we?
The poor already get free care through welfare. Those who can work at decent jobs get it through that job. It's the folks in the middle that need the help. Too much money for welfare, but no healthcare through work. One trip to an emergency room can set these folks back months of pay.
And don't talk to me about charity. Those of us with liberal views are more likely to give than the greedys.
I give 5% of my meager earnings a year. Do you?

Some of you are very wrong about health care.IT IS NOT AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE.And NOT every child qualifies for it.You act like its free handout well its not Insurance companies say what they will pay for and so does medicare and medicaid so if something goes wrong and they won't cover it how are you to get service?? Get well??I guess unless it happens to you you won't see it.A13 year old boy got an infection from an INGROWN toenail and died because he was refused hospital emergency service, they had no insurance,no doctor will see you what out money upfront, now I put it to you does that seem right? By the time all the paper work was done too late he was dead, and this was an American citizen and no one took notice.Things like that just shouldn't happen in the greatest nation on earth but these horror stories happen in the USA EVERYDAY,With universal health care he could of been treated and gone on about his life and who knows what contributions he may of made 20 years from now ? And you want me to get upset about other countries??Not likely to happen we need change here.

We have the resources in this country to ensure that every man, woman and child has access to whatever health care they require. The reason that people do not rceive that care is because doctors, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and the like would not make as much money.
Billions go to bed hungry every night because the leaders in their countries are more interested in expanding their own power than in the welfare of their citizens. We can ensure that people in our country have access to needed health care;
we cannot ensure that people the world over have sufficient food because we cannot control how other nations' leaders
utilize the resources at their disposal.

A conservative concerned about world poverty? Right on! I agree that America has its priorities skewed. Billions of people are starving. America should take all that money it's throwing away in the Iraq war and spend it on foreign aid! Finally, I've met a "compassionate conservative." I thought it was just an empty slogan! They really exist! I'll support your foreign aid initiative! Send the U.S. military out with food, not guns! Right on!

Its not free health care, we would still pay for it, but it would be universal, meaning all Americans would have it.

Its the better system, look at Great Britan, France, Canada, and even Germany, they all have universal health care and their public health indicators far exceed our own.

They live longer, lose fewer children in child birth and enjoy a higher "standard of living" meaning they bring home more pay for the same jobs.

.... and Republicans cry because they have to pay taxes that could be used to feed those billions of hungry, but actually go to dropping bombs on Iraqis instead.

Cuts both ways. Why not just simplify your statement, not a question, by just saying Americans are greedy. Instead of just trying to blame everything on liberals because you cannot come up with an original, or even somewhat intelligent, argument.

There aren't billions of people in the US.....or England....

So, are you saying we should give all our tax money away to other countries, before we take care of our own citizens?

Your argument doesn't make sense. How can you blame people for wanting to take care of problems at home, before giving money away to other counties?

Yeah, I thought being a Democrat was caring about "other" people? And certainly not anyone who isn't American, how sad and pathetic.

Its amazing to me they can convince everyone we should give away free health care when we already do. The law is clear - no one is turned away from an emergency room.
