The alcohol can dull or ruin the finish on the floor. Having any liquid on the wood for an extensive amount of time is not good for it.

You know the hardwood floors always looked the same when I come crawling in on my hands and knees after a night out. When I think about it ... they always looked better ... that meant that I finally made it home!

In reality .. ANY and I mean ANY liquid does damage to hardwood flooring, especially if it can get between the tongue and groove fittings. Remember the floor, if it is fake hardwood flooring is floating about the real floor. If it is a true hardwood floor, then anything you get on it will and can be sanded off ... then reapply sealer.

I hope you got it up quickly!! The alcohol content might not have been enough to harm the finish......might. The liquid, if left on for awhile would cause the wood to swell (especially if the finish was was worn or damaged) and warp. Third, the brew itself is darn sticky and needs to be removed promptly. If left, it could seep down and wet the underside of the wood or even subfloor causing a lingering smell to say nothing of potential warping or mold later.

If you cleaned it up promptly, you are probably OK...until it is washed and the smell goes away. If you were too drunk or jerks not to clean it up......then yes, maybe you did damage.
