My 6 month old daughter has eczema on her face. She cannot fall asleep because it itches and she tries to scratch it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do not want to start giving her benedryl right now. We currently moisturize her skin with a eucerin plus olive oil cream.

My 5 year old had real bad eczema when he was a baby. I made sure that I clipped his nails every week. I also gave him baths in aveeno powder to soothe his itchiness. You can also put gloves on her just while she sleeps.

My daughter has exzema, so I understand the frustrations you feel. Something over her hands is a good idea, if she will let you do that. My daughter wouldn't keep those kinds of things on. Try some of the heavy duty moisturizers like aveeno 24 hour moisture. In the baby aisle, good for the dry skin. However, if you doctor says it is okay- benadryl may be all that you find that works. It will really help with the itching. Good luck

put some socks on her hands she`ll hate it but mittens work to that way she cant scratch she`ll just rub. and make sure you put alot of cream on her face, before bed when she wakes up after the bath a couple times a day atleast to keep it well moistorized and if it itches that bad could be a slight irritation as well as the eczema so try small amouth of hydrocortizone cream

My son also had eczema and like some othershave said, Aveeno works great because it's so gentle and has oatmeal in it and such. I got the Aveeno Cream baby wash to bathe him in and used the Aveeno baby Cream (not lotion, Cream).
Every baby is different though! Good luck!

Well you will need to cover her hands unfortunately. I had to put socks on my ex's sons hands and tape them to his shirt. You don't want to put tape directly on the skin! He used to pull anything off if it was not secured. Just remember to keep the room cooler for the summer because of her being covered up so much. The cooler temperature will help with the rash itself as well. She will not be sweating.

My little one deals with this from time to time. I began using a Zipadee-zip simply because its arm sleeves are stitched off and they worked like mitts! NO more fear of him scratching his face.

Try putting mittens on her hands, if she can't fall asleep with them on, put them on after she falls asleep, the best of luck! :)

I had the mittens but they wouldn't stay on her hands. If they don't work for you try baby socks..
