With the exception of Eric, All have been great answers so keep them coming. It's good to see what the rest of baseball fans (outside of Houston) think of Biggio

He's a Hall of Famer, without question.
What made him great was that he did everything well, and with amazing consistency. If he had played in a major media market, he'd have been a superstar. He never won an MVP, but he did win 4 Gold Gloves and showed amazing flexibility in the field (he's one of only two players to play 100 games at both catcher and second base). He had 10 straight seasons of .380+ OBP, making him an ideal guy at the top of the lineup. And he had some pop in that bat when needed, often hitting over 20 homers in a season. Being 14th all-time in runs scored is an incredible achievement, and you couldn't ask for more from a top of the lineup guy.
Craig Biggio will have his plaque in Cooperstown as soon as he's eligible. I'm not sure he's ever been awarded the credit he deserves, but he is an all-time great.

Yes Biggio is a HOF. First of all he is the only player with 3000 hits 250HRS 400 steals and 600 doubles. 3000 hits is still a lock though probably not a first ballot guy. He is a popular player, well liked and respected, played catcher, second and the outfield well and was more of the steady eddie type than flamboyant and putting up huge numbers. He was a lifetime Astro, and that always looks good to the fans and sportswriters alike. He also was very clear of the steroid issue which will play a big part in future considerations. Look for him to go in on a slower yr where there isnt a mega star like Clemens, Maddox (probably Bonds) and that type of superstar isnt up for first ballot. But yes he shall get in,..and deserevedly so

Of course Biggio is a future HOFer.
Pencil in "Cooperstown, 2013" on your travel itinerary if you're an Astros fan.
Now, can he get enough doubles to pass Brett (Bidge needs five), and enough HBP (he needs three) to pass Jennings for the record?
And will Seligula follow him around until he DOES get the record-breaking plunk?
Finally, I wanna see him catch Brock in both categories:
Career Hits (through 24-July-2007)
22. Brock 3023
23. Palmeiro 3020
24. Biggio 3016
Strikeouts
13. Brock 1730
14. Biggio 1715
I don't consider either one especially important, but it is an interesting convergence.

Eric, you're dead wrong.
Biggio is a first ballot Hall of Famer.
He was very versatile, came up as a catcher, then shifting to 2B. While also playing outfield. Not many players were good enough to do this.
He was on base all the time, and was a team player.
1 of the most underrated players of this generation.

Every player with at least 3,000 hits who's eligible and didn't use steroids is in. Biggio will get in, and I think he would have made it had he retired with 2,800. What made him a great player was all-around skill. He was never the best hitter for average, or for power, or the best runner, or the best fielder, but he was close enough to the top in all those areas for a long time, and he will get in, as will his Houston teammate Jeff Bagwell.

Well he's already hit other 3000 hits, and he has never used steroids. That clearly makes him deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. He's also on the verge on passing Rafael Palmeiro (who did use steroids) in hits.

He got his 3000 hit, and he has played/started at over 5 different positions.
If it were me, I would vote him in because I liked the way he played baseball--he did his job every day.

If you scroll to the bottom, it shows "Who he compares to" and you will see some asterisk's after some of those names...indicating they are HOF'ers.
