Also, I think it seems that women are more often the ones who seek out psychic advice in the first place. Any statistics on this or any thoughts on why?

Anyone can say they are psychic but backing it up is a different story.
More women than men believe.
Less educated believe more.
Ethnic groups believe more.

I'd rather be a knower than a believer.
Someone that claims to have paranormal abilities is one of the following:

1. A Liar. People do lie. Assuming that everyone in the paranormal community is trustworthy is a pipe dream. They will for various reasons but for attention and/or money would be a reason. Lots of scammers on Yahoo.
2. Mistaken or self-delusional.
3. Insane.
4. Telling the truth. Someone that does not fear any type of independent controlled testing because they can truthfully do what they claim. Without the use ANY type of excuses. Go to bat for you team, win the James Randi Educational Foundation million dollar prize.

The James Randi Educational Foundation offers a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.

I don't think that more women are psychic however I do think women are more likely to accept being psychic or to express it. Personally I think it's social conditioning. Its all based out of an emotional wisdom and I think most people notice men are conditioned to not show much deep emotion, especially in public. No statistics, just years of serious observation.

Women because of the fact that they are DESIGNED to share their body with another in the form of pregnancy and have a built in intuitive ability to sense an-others emotions and feelings are more prone to being psychic. men become psychic most often through either traumatic experiences or mind altering ones.

Yes more women are intune with feelings and emotions and therefore we are more sensitive and have an easier time tuning in to the world around us and the people in it.

It is easier for us to sense things that are about to happen

I believe it has always been in our nature from the beginning.

It was necessary for the survival of the human race.

As we became more advanced and civilized it became less necessary for people to have to sense danger. We began to let our guard down and many of us have either lost the ability or haven't developed this ability.

Those of us , who know we have it can increase our ability by more frequent use.

Basically if you don't use it you lose it. Once you become an adult it is much more difficult to activate. If you recognize that you have it in childhood and use it every chance you have to use it. Then your ability will increase with experience. Learning to control it and how and when to use it is a necessity.

Men have a tendency to stay quiet about talents. Their peers are usually a good bit more aggressive when it comes to words and physical action when they find a male "Witch."

For some reason what is accepted to a great extent as natural for women, is considered an aberration for men. An excellent example is "womens intuition" which is even accepted by Christians as normal.

Well, I know quite a few men that are psychic as well, but it could be a certain mind frame that allows you to tune in to the frequence you need in order to reach that level of awareness. Women also tend to be more emotional. My husband for example: He has a latent ability, clairsentient (aka empathy), I can feel it in him, but he's entirely too
"logical" and "scientific". He'll never be as open as I am to it. It's just not who he is.

I think we are naturally more empathic and open to information from outside sources. I also think women are more willing to acknowledge any abilities they may have and are more accepting of the phenomena. And yes, more women seek out advice than men, at least from my experience. 90% of readings that I do are for women.

Think about it...how could we have survived and thrived as a species if not for "women's intuition." It is a survival mechanism.

Women are naturally more in touch with their intuitive side and because they are more oriented around emotions it sets them over into the side of the brain necessary for psychic development.

Yes because you are the most hungry for power, and the only reason there SEEM to be more women psychcics, is because the pathetic ones run around saying they are when the truly powerful are quite about it and do no draw attention to them selves like fools. And the majority of the stronger ones are men.
