Do some online research about caring for them and print out pages on betta care. Show your mom that
1. they take up very little space.
2. a 2.5 gallon tank is all you need
3. they don;t cost much at all
4. you can easily keep it in your room and care for it yourself.
Then ask her politely to reconsider her position and then be ready to care for your fish completely on your own if she changes her mind.

If you want to prove to your mom how responsible you are then do some serious research on the type of fish you want to have and what it takes to take care of them. How much it might cost in a week to care for them correctly, set up your tank, feed them over a week.. Present this to your mom like you might a report at school. Maybe by showing her how much you already know ant that your willing to learn about fish on your own she will see just how much fun a fish can be!
And with al the information you have your going to be ready for that 1st aquarium. You have the happiest fish on the block!!
I just don't get anyone NOT liking fish!!! What's not to love!!!

I also have a female betta too. They are not that hard to take care of. Female bettas are not to be in a tank with anyone else if with a male get a tank that seperates the two because the female and the male will both try to kill each other , and if it has babies keep the female betta away from them because female bettas will try to eat the babies. Plus cleaning the tank is needed almost everyday. Well, I wish you the best

Get the Betta fish that comes with the plant on the fish bowl. That way it looks really pretty for your mom, and the fish is always feed and water is clean because the plant is living in the water too. Its really easy to take care of, and your mom will like the plant.

i absolutely love those fish. my uncle has them. they are fierce though. If you get a male, only keep one in the tank. otherwise they will fight. they even fight with other fish. females are good together.
tell your mom it will be in your room. she will not have to clean or feed it. and she doesn't have to see them since they are in YOUR room.
