I get confused with some Americans words too works both ways.

Fags - Cigarettes
going for a dump - number 2
loo - restroom or bathroom
beat it - get lost or just go away
minging - smelly or just nasty
thick person - someone who is not very intelligent
lard ar*se - someone with a big bottom
fanny - pu*ssy
Lift - elevator
handsome - like that
your having a Giraffe - having a laugh

When I was watching the British version of "The Office" I got confused by the word "redundancies." After a while a light went on in my head and I was like "Oh! You mean downsizing!"

Not so much the word, but the amount difference between pounds and dollars. I think we pretty much have a hold on the words that you guys use. I call my husband a wanker all the time! LOL
