Let's face it. You can pretty much dress up like a wall st. business man one day, and get treated one way, and like a surfer boy the next, and get treated another way. You can easily play with image, and personality, like an actor can. Also, life can be hard, and there is alot of stuff to do & pay bills etc, and people can screw you over, so bitterness occurs.

Also to get anything accomplished you have to know how to play your cards right, follow the rules, know what you're doing, etc, which leads to game playing, in which you are the player.

Our consumer society easily makes us decision maker/player/choosers almost all the time.

You also have fake it-till ya-make it types, which this society almost caters to, as fakeness is always appreciated at least in America, thanks to marketing.

Then you have real problems. Pollution, traffic, job-layoffs, health issues, fixer-uppers, deaths, relationship problems, etc, which can create anger/depression.

Isn't it ALL so f*Cked up

The average person who has an intact brain, who isn't simple minded/shallow, and gets what I'm saying, has mannnnnny things in their mind all at once, house bills, education related things, car/food, kids possibly etc, and when you look at the bigger picture, it creates a very unhealthy society mentally, and an instable one too.

Add to the mix religion and christianity, and you have yourself a time-bomb waiting to explode?

Is it any wonder why there's so much hate and bullshit out there?

Maybe because life, the way it is pretty much, IS bullshit?

Not saying all of it is, but there is alot of it.

I couldn't have said it any better! Life becomes more complex with each passing day. It never slows down so you can catch your breath. People who have been conned, usually learn how to con, it is a major problem in America. I have noticed a severe change in peoples morals and values over the last ten years. Life has become so difficult and people so untrustworthy that I have no desire to be a part of it. When I try to express how we have moved away from God(morals and ethics) the only response I get is we are advancing, look at all the new wonderful technologies out there today. Crime rates are down. Have people ever stopped to think crime rates are down because new laws have been passed to condone things that once used to be considered crimes? Like abortion and other moral issues? Justice is not about justice anymore, it is all about what kind of legal representation you can afford. Don't beleive me, try defending yourself without a lawyer or fighting for what is right without one. Your voice will never be heard. Our legal system is nothing more than a money making machine. Justice and truth are only for those who can afford it. Its discusting. It is F*cked up and I don't see it getting any better. To answer your question, yes, our society is creating manic depressives and psychotics and sociopaths, and anti-socials, and pschizos. People can't cope with the complexity of the problems that arise in their lives due to unmoralistic acts that are accepted in our society. Did you know more people commit suicide than are murdered and that the rate of suicide continues to increase yearly? : (

This is a concept that many Sociologists have theorized about at great length. What you are describing is in part labeling theory, a get a sense of conflict theory in there but, I reccomend that you read a little bit by Erich Goode who studied labels and also dramaturgy as defined by Goffman. I do hope you decide to study Sociology it is very rewarding. Also, if you just want to expand on your views, George Lundberg the Sociologist (there is also an M.D. by the same name), Ferdinand Tönnies, and C. Wright Mills all had excessively interesting and divergent points of view.

Who and what people are comes from within them. They make choices every day that make them what they are. If they made better choices, their lives might turn out better.

You cannot blame the woes in a persons life on other people.

I believe people are raised to become the person they are. Your upbringing has alot to do with your actions. If you see violence in your home, you are more likely to become a violent person. People learn from what they see. How can you learn to express love or even understand it if you have never experienced it.

I believe that Sociopaths etc. are present in every society. Our society does not create them, they choose to be so.
