I basically have straight A's, and I'm in Honors History, Honors English and Honors Biology for next year. I'm also taking French IV, Algebra III and Band.

I'm section leader of the Clarinets in my school's marching Band, Historian of Student Council, President of the Celtic Culture Club, a general member of International Relations, a member of the poetry club, Music honor Society, an I'm joining Red Cross club, Junior States of America, Leadership in Motion Everywhere, and Class Reps.

I alo take Clarinet Lessons, am in 2 Irish music groups, and I'm going to be doing Town basketball and the New England Youth Wind Ensemble this year.

I took SAT reasoning in 8th grade and got 610 in reading, 520 in math, and 520 in writing.

I took 3 Subject Tests this year and got a 660 in World History, a 660 in Literature and a 450 in US history.

From the looks of it you have good grades but not a challenging curriculum. As you only listed a few honors classes, I would have to assume that the rest are standard. Unfortunately, the difficulty of one's curriculum is the number one admissions factor at BC. I would suggest that you pick a more challenging curriculum if you want to a better chance of admission.

Your extracurriculars and leadership positions look good for Boston. Shouldn't be a problem in that field as long as you keep it up.

SAT scores are sub-par. The average BC score is about 1330 while you have an 1130. Of course, you still have plenty of time to improve so hopefully that won't be a problem.

SAT IIs are required at Boston. Your literature and World History scores are OK though not spectacular for Boston. That US History is awful, it is well below the average score for that exam. I suggest either retaking that or finding another subject to count as your 3rd subject test.

The first thing that came to mind was $$$$$$$! I see I am not alone in my thinking. My son's best friend got a four year scholarship to BC playing football! Unless you have a near perfect SAT or can play a sport where the school recruits you, it is difficult to get into BC on any type of scholarship. If you pay, you still need the above average grades as well as SAT score and everything else that comes with applying to a top college, community service, involvement with band, sports, and clubs. Good luck!
