What part of highschool are you asking about? :) There are pressures/troubles for several aspects of highschool:
1. Making friends... well, if you've got some friends from another school or from lower levels who are in the same highschool, then perhaps you can group up with them. :) Also, it's a time where you can make a set of friends.. depending on shared hobbies or interests...
2. Studies... Like a previous answer, you can join a study group, or start one with common friends if you have some already. These can be helpful if you're with a good group.. i mean the kind where its members/roster are studious or eager to pass, or with good standards(with goals, preferrably)
3. Fitting in... even with friends, there are those who encounter difficulties in fitting in with the "highschool pressure"..like being part of the cheerleader team or the high's varsity, etc... It also depends on whether or not you care at all (which can tend to be easier or harder depending on your true personality)
4. Uniqueness... speaking of personality, this is the time where you can make a simple or perhaps and elegant name for yourself, like a quiz bee champ, or a leader of a movement with a good cause(health, safe-sex, or perhaps environment stuff)...
Not all of these are looked at by all individuals.. it's really a matter of who you are.. who you know you surely want to be.. and how far you're willing to go to be that new person. :) It's not that you shouldn't be the same person you are.. it's just that there may be an opportunity different from the ones you had back then.. (and some may be the same, but really, it's a new level of recognition that you can get from others, or a satisfaction for yourself)
It's a new phase where you can make and leave your mark of greatness. :) Good luck!

High school is different - and yes, it can be tough.
Academically, you will have to think on your own - most of the time the teacher will guide you - but won't hold your hand unless you really need it. And he or she will be available if you recognize that you need help with a particular subject.
There'sa lot more to learn than when I was in HS - but the challenges are the same. Either you're preparing yourself for college - or you're preparing yourself for work right after school. Really be honest with yourself and decide early on if college is right for you.
Budget your time for studies too. If you have a hard time learning how to study - which is as important as the subjects you study - ask for help. It's available - but you have to ask for it.
Socially it's tough too. Sometimes the clicks can be mean and nasty - especially if you don't happen to like preppy clothes or team sports etc. Or if you're slightly pudgy or tall and skinny - or or or. Most of those kinds of people are worthless anyway - but they can really make your life tough by their incessent teasing. The best thing you can do is to be true to yourself and your faith.
A good few teen/high school movies to watch are Never Been Kissed, 10 things I hate about you, Mean Girls, A Cinderella Story, and Carrie.
You'll be tempted to do stuff that your parents won't approve of. Word to the wise - don't take a dare. Even if it costs you a friendship - don't take a dare. Dangerous things dares - don't take the bait.
Again, be true to yourself and your faith.

It can be. I found it the same as junior high except with more drama and the works harder (as it is everytime you go up a grade). Make friends that you'll know will stick with you. Do your work on time. Don't, no matter what, give into peer pressure. I know it's hard, but you won't regret it when you're older. Try not to be shy, try new things so you'll learn what kind of things you're good at and what you like. It can be the best or worst four years of your life. It's what you make of it. But most of all, have fun!

no, high school is not tough. It may seem so at first because you are realizing that you are taking a step forward in your life. But give it a couple weeks, and you will see that there is nothing to it. You will meet new friends, and plus you will still have your friends from middle school there with you.

No, not really. You have support from your teachers & your friends. If you are taking any advanced classes, just take your time & study & make sure you do what it takes to keep up your grades. Highschool is a fun time of your life so you should have fun too

Well your first year there is tough because you get to meet new people. But your Sophomore and Junior and Senior year should be easier because you know everyone and you know all the teachers and you know what the teachers want from you.
