Grew up in a Rural Area just outside of the City of Chicago ... and when I graduated HS -- entered the US Armed Forces (became a Servicemember) ... and did not ever look back (because there was NOTHING To look back to -- since My siblings and I buried our parents as very young adults when we were Serving in the US Armed Forces).

Life goes on -- we move out, we moved on -- changed duty stations when ordered, got married/divorced (I divorced an abusive, violent sociopath after a short disaster of a marriage), continued to move as ordered, put in MY Military Retirement Papers ... Retired from the Service, continued to keep going (raising my two disabled kids myself) ... and now ... am Enjoying MY HOME as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (the Home I purchased near where the Best Duty Station I was assigned at was).

Life is change -- growth, movement, expansions and contractions, and finally ... after a lifetime of hard work ... one gets to where I am now ... an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree!

I grew up in a big big city ( Chicago) and about 4 years ago hubby and I moved to a town in IL it is one of the biggest towns around here but compared to Chicago it is small. We both lived in Chicago all our lives up until then. We moved out here because it is a lot nicer for our kids . At first I hated it. But now I love it out here it is so beautiful and I don't think I am ever moving back to Chicago . We were just out in Chicago this weekend visiting family and I couldn't wait to get home ....I belong out here . It is to pretty to want to move back to such a dirty city like Chicago.

Don't worry about it you will get use to it before you know it you will feel at home.
