Do they have to tell you if they strip your membranes?
I went to the doctors today and she checked me but when she did it was alot more painful than usual and she was pressing harder, do they have to tell you they are doing it, what does it feel like, how long does it take to strip membranes?

You don't have to have an internal exam...you are the boss, and don't let them forget it. You pay THEIR mortgages.

You should definately call and ask. i sort of have the same question...i went to my doc today and she said she was going to check my cervix next week and with a little encouragement by her hopefully this baby will come out....i'm thinking "what in the world does she mean with a little encouragement by her, does she plan on stripping mine"....i'll find out before she touches me that's for sure.

You have the right to know what is being done to YOUR body. If you have questions, NEVER be afraid to ask. If you want, call back and have someone tell you about the procedure that was done. That way you'll know.

I don't know but you could have just been more sensitive. I think they tell you if they scrap your membrane on purpose.
