I use to have the same problem! I slowly started increasing my exercise routine to get into shape. With slowly doing this my heart could get use to the extra amount of exercise I was receiving. I've had all the different monitors for your heart, and an echo. Nothing was wrong, I was just out of shape and my heart had to work extra extra hard to keep up. With a slower exercise program my heart slowly became to get use to all the exercise and i started losing weight, and have been able to keep it off.
Start slowly and work your way up. If you feel like your over working your heart, STOP and relax and rest your heart and muscles. Then continue with your routine.
Hope this helps!

My first suggestion is that you see your family doctor as soon as you can to make sure that you are not having some other type of problem with your heart. A lot of overweight people also have high blood pressure and that can kill you. You don't want to get worse by starting an exercise program without knowing that all is AOK inside of you so it's time to get a good physical first before you start exercising. But in the meantime, you can help yourself get back on track by doing other things. Cut out extra heavy eating and eating after 7 pm at night. Keep track of your calories for the weight you want to be and don't go over those per day so that you can start losing now while you get your doctor's appointment. Watch your fat and salt intake too because if you do have a blood pressure problem, those will aggrivate it worse. If your physical checks out ok, then you know all you need to do is lose weight to feel better so that you don't get a worse physical condition due to excess baggage. For evey pound you weigh overweight, you shorten your lifespan as well as your heart has to work overtime to keep your blood pumping out of your legs. That isn't good for you. Get your physical, watch your calories and if all is well, pick your exercises. If all isn't well, your doctor will let you know what exercises he thinks you need. Usually the best thing for over weight people is to just walk on a flat serface area first. Start out with a 20 minute walk for the first week and then increase it gradually until you can do a good hour without being out of breath. Then you can try the hills. To know that you are not over taxing yourself, try to talk and walk. If you can talk without gasping for breath but chatting normally, then you are not walking too fast for your heart. That stamina will increase as you get more into shape so that you can run and not be out of breath.

If the doc said its ok...then its ok, however, yes your weight has to do with that, so I would ask your doc what is a safe way to lose weight that doesn't make your heart race like it does.

Good Luck

isn't it sufficient that a qualified physician gave you considered answers to your questions and worries? How can a person guide better from a distance than the ones who has his hands on the problem?
