Forgiveness is of the utmost importance in any type of relationship. Without forgiveness, you don't have a relationship. Everyone makes mistakes. And forgiveness is the easy part. It's the "forgetting" part that we tend to have trouble with.
Take my father for instance, he is a complete piece of sh*t. He didn't use to be, but he made mistakes, chose wrong paths, and eventually, destroyed our family. It took several years for me to forgive him. God knows!!!. But eventually, I finally did. But I will never forget the things that he said nor the things that he did. It's not my place to judge him. He will have to answer to someone far greater than me one day. But it is my place to forgive him. After all, keeping all of those feelings inside me; plotting my revenge; all that did was hurt me even more. Once I realized that, I began to heal.
Do I forgive him? Yes. Have I forgotten? No. And I never will. Do I love him? Yes. He's still my father. Do I like him? No. Not at all.
There's a huge difference between loving somebody and liking somebody isn't there?

Ultimately, it is the most important component of human relationships.
Forgiveness is the most difficult thing to do, when done from the heart, and done correctly. So many times others hurt us without really realizing it; of course there are exceptions to this rule, but most lovers, friends, and family members, do not plot to hurt us, or our feelings. A friend once explained it to me like this: When thinking about forgiveness; recall Jesus Christ (if you are so inclined to believe) on the crossed as he died, he said to his father, of the very people who were putting him to death "Forgive them father ..............they know not what they do."
Sum's it up, and makes you realize how true this is of most people.

forgiveness is the easiest thing to say and the hardest thing to really do. If we don't have forgiveness I don't know if any relationship that would ever make it. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone hurts people from time to time so if we don't get forgiveness where would we be?

VERY important. If you keep something inside you for which you cannot forgive her/him, it'll eat you.And you will always argue about it. So, if you want to be with the guy/girl after he/she made something stupid, then first prepare to forgive, otherwise the relationship will not work well.
