It will be a great milestone in baseball history and I would expect it will occur sometime within the next few weeks. It seems to me that many people care because about one out of every three questions on this site involve Bonds and the homerun record.

yes it is a milestone. if it was anyother player (ie ARod a few years down the road) people will rejoice
But because of the allegations behing Bonds, his TERRIBLE off-field attitude (and on field for that matter) peopl will not support his record
Not to mention the fact that Bonds had it easier than Aaron. idc that they both did it during expansion. im talking about all types of LEGAL enhancers and supplements, conditioning programs and exercises not known back in Aaron's day, the juiced up ball implemented after fans started losing interest in the game, because we all know most fans watch to see the longball (it disgusts me) and improved bat technology
so will Bonds be the HR King?? Yes
will the general hav eto recognize it?? Yes
i dont like Bonds, but i can at least take solice in the fact that he will only hold the record for a short period of time, and hopefully the world will right itself when some hard evidence comes up proving Bonds cheated once and for all

Don't know but imagine against the Marlins. Sure I care. I'm a baseball fan. Whether you love him or dislike him, any real baseball fan should care one way or the other.
He will probably do it off that thug Scott Olsen. Now that would be great!

I cannot imagine anyone cares about the specific date, except:
a. people hoping to attend The Game;
b. people who want to watch the whole game and do not have Tivo;
c. Commissioner Selig and his secretary, who will have to make ongoing travel arrangements.
