don't over use it. try light colors to match your skin at first and then if u want go and try dark colors but if youre young, they wont look too nice. try to work up on colors from light to darker. try glosses and stuff that has no alcohol or oils first. get to know ur skin.

your age matters for make up tricks...if you are just starting, i assume you are a teenager. The best tip at that age is to wear minimal make up :) It makes you look really silly when you start caking on all kinds of make up and heavy eyeliner and bright eyeshadow colors. Keep it neutral..light brown eye shadows, very light on the eye liner and mascara...just some powder and some lip gloss..

If you take an angle brush and smudge some dark eye shadow into your lash-line instead of eye liner its good for a special occasion, maybe not everyday, but it does look good.
Do NOT make the mistake of wearing the same colored eyeshadow as your eyes - for instance, dont wear blue eyeshadow if you have blue eyes. I would also restrain from using colored eye shadows-use neutrals

to use lip liner for your lips, its just like coloring back in kindergarden. first you line using your natural lips line (stay in the line) then fill in the middle with lipstick (blot if you have put to much on, then a dab of lip gloss on the bottom lip and then put your lips together and smudge.
eyeliner- to line your eyes, just make a very small line, then continue using the end of that line to make another line and follow that line till you reach the whole eye (hope you understand)
blush- go after the apple of your cheeks. with the brush apply blush at the "bump (part that sticks out when you smile) and work your way back toward your hairline. blush should not be obvious on your face so not too much color.

Start by determining your skin tone to find flattering make up colors. Here's how to determine your skin tone:
Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.
Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.

Stay away from heavy colors. Try bronzes and cute pinks but nothing loud or over the top. Light as possible is always best.

my favorite trick is getting some shimmery white (or other light color like very light pink or beige) eye shadow and using it just below your eye brows and the inner corner where your eyes meat your nose, it'll make your eyes look bigger and brighter

when you first star useing make up just try to look natural ,when you put on masacra have a lash comb on hand you dont want it to look clumpy, eyeliner put on a very very thin line nobody looks good with a lot of it, just go very close to your lash whe you do it and if you want eyeliner on the bottom just put it on the ledge of your eye not lower than your bottom lash.if your skin is fair try useing a bronzer, its eaiser to use powder bronzer b/c you wont get thoses orange marks.eye shadow- try to use somthing tht brings out your eyes and matches your clothes like if you dont have anything to match your clothes use gray it makes your eyes stand out just go from your lash to your eye crease.just try to enhanse the things you like about your face, it will hide the things you dont like if you wear cover up dont put too much on it will make you look funny, it wont look normal remember to blend. and make sure your cover up matches your skin.and if you want tht sun kissed look put bronzer lightley on your cheak bones and on your temples and have it extreamley light on your forehead and nose.then put a light blush over the bronzer on your cheak bones
try all this stuff out and wht you dont like dont wear and keep what you do
any questions ask
