When I first got out of the military I attended a small community college in East Mississippi. I was WARNED that I should not send my children to public school that they were lousy and that only a blacks were there. The funny thing was that my are not white and are in fact mixed.

Anyway to make a long story short it seemed that the white locals were obsessed with getting government to pay for private education primary to stop the races from inter-mingling (despite the fact that when they get to college GUESS what?)

That's all I heard for three semesters... you have to wonder how people can think like that.

If you go to public school, you are using public tax dollars to fund your education. In some states, you can go to private schools through a program called open enrollment and receive some money to help pay for your education. Isn't it fair for everyone to receive the exact same educational benefit from the state regardless of social or economic status?

The ones that give enough tax dollars for there to be public schools in the first place. Everyone pays for public schools regardless of whether they send their kids there, or even have kids to send there, so if you're paying for them you might as well let your kids benefit from them.

Also not every rich Republican lives in a big city, or even within thirty miles of a private school, or necessarily wants their kids to go to private school.

I'm not rich, but I can be considered conservative. Thanks to Bush's Child Tax Credit, I use my "tax dollars" the way they were intended - on my child's future. Not only do I contribute monthly to my son's US 529 plan, but every tax season, $1000 + his share of earned income credit gets thrown in there.

All of them. I am not rich, nor do I have kids, but my tax dollar goes to public schools.

It's a bogus follow up question because it's the Liberals who are at war with the "rich" in this country, NOT the conservatives. When was the last time a poor man gave you a job????

How many liberals depend on the government and tax dollars for not only their education, but their food, shelter, clothing and to be their daddy too?

Republicans think it is right for you to have the money that you earn so that you can support your family as you see fit.

It's not right for Dems or anyone to steal the money that a person works hard for.

So my guess is that 100% of Republicans used the money, which they had earned, to provide for their families as the constitution allows them to do.
