Because cows eat corn, and corn is being bought up and diverted to the ethanol plants for fuel. it's a vicious cycle isn't it?

You'll notice that everything else will go up in price as gas prices rise. Companies are having diminishing profits for having to keep up with their shipping prices as gas prices go up, so they have to raise their prices to balance it out. Plus, you have to pay for the fuel on the farm machinery to grow the food for the cattle, the machines to milk the cattle, the machines to process the milk, etc, etc. So, it all comes out in the wash. The result: $3.50 a gallon.

Due to the new oil produced by corn, the cost of feed which contains corn is now more expensive. Therefore, the cost of anything used by corn such as feed or corn itself is more expensive. There is a higher demand for it. So, going green is also costing us. Everything will be more expensive. That goes for milk, meat and anything that uses corn to supply the product or feed the product that makes the final product itself.
