Today is my CD 3, but it is very light. I was spotting on Sunday and Monday pretty heavily so I assumed it was my period. But now on CD 3, it is very light and barely there. I had an IUI done on July 5th and was hoping to be pregnant this month. What is this kind bleeding - a period, implantation bleeding, or miscarriage? My period usually starts out heavy for the first 3 days, so I'm confused because today is CD 3 and it's barely there. What do you think this is? I have been on a variety of fertility meds this month so it messes with my body. I'm so confused. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What do you think? My hubby and I are planning to go natural next month since the meds are not working for us. I've been on meds for about a year now and I'm still not pregnant. Both of our bloodwork and my HSG came back normal. Any thoughts?

Sounds familiar. I was on Femara (a fertility drug similar to Clomid) and my cycle went haywire for a couple of months because my hormones went from being unbalanced to out of control. I turned out not being pregnant but there is a slight possibility you are. I would say your chances were better if you didn't describe heavy bleeding. I'd take a test anyway - get one at the dollar tree -they work just as well and will only put you out a buck. If you are want to go natural, I'd recommend an organic diet full of fresh organic fruits and veggies and if you eat meat, hormone-free meat. I've been able to regulate my hormones this way and would say going natural is the way to go. If you decide to try some herbs, check out the book "The Infertility Cure" by Randine Lewis. This book really helped me out because I had an estrogen-dominant cycle that is finally being corrected by herbs. If you have any other questions about organic diet/herbs, don't hesitate to ask, I've done the research and it's helped me.

Spotting is defined as a small amount of blood that doesn't require the use of a pad or tampon. Cycle day 1 is the first day of red flow, not spotting. My guess would be that your real period will start in a few days. Normally when you release 1 egg after about 2 weeks the corpus luteum dies and progesterone drops pretty rapidly and your period starts. When using fertility meds that often cause multiple eggs to release the level of progesterone doesn't just drop as rapidly because the corpus luteums don't die all at the same time. This slow fall in progesterone causes spotting before your period.
Just one other thought, it is slightly possible that the spotting is abnormal pregnancy spotting, have you tested just to be sure?
