For driving, I mean you have to be 16 years old in most states to begin driving, and I think 65 should be the age limit, what do you think?

For anyone coming in late, I meant 65 being the age where you cannot drive legally anymore.

More like 50 I say...
To be fair, there could be a test you take at that age, and if you pass, you can still drive, but if not....
But if you pass, you should have to retake the test every certain amount of years.
I think its hilarious that barely anyone understood what you meant in this question! Apparently, everyone is going through a blond moment today.

In my state I can legally learn to drive right now and I'm 14 and a half.
Recently old people have been driving on the side walks and running people over though.. so 65 would be a reasonable age to stop driving, but what about the 65 year olds who are perfectly capable? there should be a rigourous test all senior citizens have to take to be SURE of their driving ablitys.

Lemme guess....you are a teenager, right?
I am willing to bet that most of your typical car accidents anywhere involve a younger than 65 year old driver. Hmmm wonder why that is. Would it be because the 65 years olds and older have enough sense to drive the speed limit, do not drink and drive, are courteous enough to allow the younger drivers make their errors and cut offs...because they know that given enough time, the young speed demons will eventually end up in the ditch against a tree upside down and maybe dead.

Here in England you have to be 17 to drive a car.
I think they are changing it to :
You can drive at 17, but have to take your test when you are older than 18, and can't drive with anyone under the age of 15 between 23.00 and 05.00
I think 17 is a good age limit to begin driving.
But you get boy and girl racers on small windy roads that think its funny to act silly - then they crash and die. And the families blame the council for not having straight roads !!

I dont think there should be an age limit because I know a lot of 80 year olds who are more with it then 50 year olds. They should however have them retaking the test after 65 every 5 years or something to make sure they are safe drivers.

Most people at 65 can still drive well. I think 75 should be the oldest a person can drive at. I'm sick and tired of those grannies driving at 20 miles an hour on the interstate.

i definately agree that really young ppl, and really old ppl drive horribley. however, i don't agree that a set age is a good problem solver. i think that kids should stat driving when they are tall enough, knows the knowledge of driving & stuff, and can think maturally enough. Old people should stop being allowed to drive when they get a disability or their reactions are slow. People's first time driving tests should be harder as should people's tests when they get older. Drivers tests should be mandatory every few years. i hate it when teens or old people drive like crazy, and i definately think something should be done about this.

i don't think there should be a max age - some people age better than others - people should be forced to submit to both an eye and driving test every couple (maybe four) years or so starting around 65 -

I know a lot of drivers who are over 65 and far better drivers than most 20 year olds.
I think drivers should be tested on ability, not on age. From ages 16 to 25, you have to take a driving test every year. From ages 26 to 65, you have to take a driving test every 5 years. And from ages 66 on, you have to take a driving test every year.

I think that after a certain age, a driving test should be administered.
Yes, there are a lot of elderly drivers who shouldn't be on teh road, but many people function quite well after 65....
