Return it to whom? Are you implying that all happiness depends upon someone else?
What about being happy with yourself. Who do you owe that to?

Yes. I believe true happiness stems from within, not any external person or thing. If one is happy inside, one will naturally return it. But if one is not happy, it would be very difficult, if not impossible to return something that we do not have. Regardless, everyone is entitled to happiness.

It would be difficult to NOT return happiness in that human nature is all about feeling good.

I don't think it's a matter of having a right to happiness or not; if you don't return it won't come to you anyway.
