The term dark is more considerate compared to "darky". "darky boy" is just plain wrong and degrading. You don't call a pale person "paley" or "paley boy" so why do it to any other skin tone. It's rude and shows a lack of respect-- not saying that you are trying to be rude or disrespectful.

Because "darky" also is a slang reference to poop. The term "darky" came about because people were being cruel and comparing people with dark skin to the color of crap.

That is why it's a racial slur, and not appropriate to call someone that.

you can call a darkskin person "dark"...but when you use the term "darky boy".....it seems kind of sinister...doesnt come off as nice...sorry....try again.....the same goes for calling a person that is pale...pale.....but you would never call them them "paley girl" or pale face and think it sounds good would you?...and if you do...you are clearly out to lunch

You can call them by their race name such as black or african american. Is it offensive to call a pale looking person resembling an albino a pale face or paley???

Do you think a person called that is going to take it as a compliment?I doubt it. I'm half French and half Cuban it upsets me when a comment is made to point out my heritage. It's usually not done to make one feel better about himself.

It depends on the individual. I'm half-Filipino; when someone called me a "forest mongoloid", I didn't really care. He was just kidding, anyway.

I'm sure some boys would be VERY offended by that term. They might actually get violent -sad, but true.

Yes it's offensive. It even sounds offensive.
What if someone called you 'Pastie Girl'?
See how that works.

Why would anyone use such a term?

I think it would be offensive under any circumstances.
