He was a senator from Nebraska. Born in Ohio. and buried in Washington DC. I am looking for more of a personal history on him. Like family and such. Thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

Interestingly, my Grandmother's family, the Tipton's lived in Elizabethton, Tenn. Elizabethton was founded in 1770's and evidently was up in the hill country--and did not own slaves! I'm sure there were other Tipton's, but Elizabethton is STILL FULL of Tiptons and Bowers (my Grt grandmother's maiden name). Don't know if this will be of any help...what time frame is your senator from? I contacted the library in Elizabethton and they were very helpful.

Check with the Ohio or Nebraska historical societies. Not much on the web.
