Two days ago I installed a new phone jack in my office. Everything was working fine before I did this. After I did it I lost all phone jacks except that DSL works at all of them. Just no dial tone even at the new one. I thought maybe it was the service issue so I checked it outside and I have a tone there. The cable checked out good so I dont understand what is causing this. Any ideas would be great for troubleshooting this. All you here on the phone is a low hum if anything.

you have a broken connection at the new jack. fix the connection and install dsl filters on the rest of the lines.

you have either got a short at the new connection point - did you hit the cable with a staple?, have wired the new point incorrectly, have accidentally disconnected the line or have more phones connected at one time than the line will support check the ren number on all devices if it adds up to more than 4 things start going wrong.[don't forget to count answering machines and fax machines]
try disconnecting the new socket again long shot but perhaps the new socket is faulty
good luck - let us know how you repair it - mail if you wish

A DSL line commonly comes with a filter for the non DSL jacks.
Did you disconnect this filter?

You very likely wired the new connector wrongly. There is a rule that says "If it was OK before you touched it and it isn't now, you did it". Not quite like that but you get the point. This is a common problem with these connectors because they are (maybe purposely) poorly labelled.
