Six Sigma alone is measuring, analyzing data and removing variances in the process. Lean Six Sigma is integration of using Six Sigma data and Lean Manufacturing tools to remove variances in the process. Many companies will have Six Sigma black belts (usually in the Quality Assurance department) and Lean Manufacturing Experts will be headed by usually Process Engineering or manufacturing directly. Having Lean Six Sigma as one enterprise, it ensures that everyone in unison.
