Because that means that you are (game over) and this sensation is really hard, It happened to me many times, when my sister organized a party and they thougth I was weird and rare but I was not that kind of person so they said ooohh poor sergio lets invite him !! but I like all the partyes but not all the kind of people.
So I think that makes you feel you are defeated when it is false!!

Why does it make you angry for them to feel sorry for you, you said you had no friends. For people I don't know to feel sorry for me is something I will not know. If they say things to me then they are sticking their nose into my business. Now if they are trying to help you, than why are they saying things that they know will hurt. Is it raining where you live?

I don't know but I'm the same way. When I get into accidents it absolutely infuriates me when people are like, "oh you poor thing let me help you". I'm like *slap* leave me alone and mind your own business. I don't think it's really pride... it's more like the need for autonomy. The buggar off personality disorder or something :-).

Extremely angry? You have poor control of your emotions and misplaced anger.

I dispise pity as well, but I don't waste energy on extreme anger. You will get less pity when you act less pitiful.
