When a person in ruling power or a religionist came into power over a small village or a whole country and their popularity or power was a bit shakey they would want to make sure none stood above them in the eyes of those they ruled religiously or in every day life.

A healer or herbalist or midwife would be a challenge as the people would come to find while the ruler or the religionist took taxes and tithes and some times daughters and wives, the healer, herbalist, or midwife, ask for little. They brought health and new life to the community.

In time the healer, herbalist, or midwife began to be revered in the community. Judgements were asked of them rather than the person in ruling power or a religionist. Then the population would begin comparing the healer, herbalist, or midwife to the person in ruling power and the religionist.

That is why those who were persons in ruling power, and, the religionists, took advantage of the fact that the majority of people could not read their own language much less the language of holy books. They changed the meanings in the book by changing words--as they still do today. They then declared the healers, herbalists, and midwifes to be "witches" and "minions of Satan"--as they still do today. Then they would imprision, excile, or murder those they declared "witches"and "minions of Satan." As they still do in some places on this earth today.

Magick, well, all religions are based on Magick. Though many will deny Magick, they will say prayers/spells and ask for Miracles/Magick. They use candle magick and color magick through the various days of importance in the religious year.

Hi Sweetie,

Being a witch myself I can tell you there are so many things that are great about witchcraft.

For starters the pagans of long ago were the first religion, then the Christians came along and stole their holidays and rituals and beliefs and turned them into their own.

Magic is real, it is tapping into your mind and body to that part of your brain seldom used. Then knowing how to rouse your inner strength and the energies of the universe to achieve things you wish to.

Most people are to closed minded to accept that there are things in this world they cant explain. Or were raised to believe that those whom are different are evil or bad, like witches.

Generally a witch is good, and is a common reference to both men and woman. A warlock is a bad witch and again is a man or woman. TV and stories turned this around stating a witch was a female and a warlock was a male.

kind of a vague question, so I can't say too much.

However, witches like you see on TV or in movies don't exist. There are psychics and such in real life, and people do cast spells, which are nothing more than prayers. In fact, you can find magic in pretty much all religions, though most people who are not Pagan will deny it.

Come up with a more direct question, and you will get much more direct answers.

I did answer a question earlier today in Yahoo's Mythology & Folklore section from a guy who seems to have had a black magic spell put on him by his ex-wife who apparently used a lock of his hair to invoke a demon. Since then he is
having terrible nightmares and apparently experiencing misery,. The poor guy asked Yahoo Answers for help but seems to be just getting silly comments from skeptics and jokers instead of helpful advice. His question does seeem further proof black magick and witchcraft are out there and anybody can be a victim. I quoted information to him from an extremely disturbing book called "Luciferian Witchcraft" which anybody can get hold of via Lulu.

The book calls itself "the revealed grimoire of the Left Hand Path" is written by a person called Michael Ford, who is a highly experienced adept in black magic. including the invoking of demons and practice of forbidden sex magic and it is horribly revealing and definitely not something to be joked about.

There is also a very new and extremely informative book covering white magick in awesome comprehensive detail see.

You can get this downloaded on the net for about £10 and there are numerous testmonies from former skeptics who have found that works too.

Give them both a read if you really want to learn more,

Witches, Wiccan, so on are all out there.
Studying is the first part of it. From there you will find others in your area that will tell you more.
Do not listen to those who think they know Witches becasue they watch TV.
Any one can watch TV. It takes someone special to open thier minds wider than the thickness of peice of paper

99.7% of the people who are talking down on witches and magic know little or nothing about either. Of that percentage 99.9% of them are unlikely to look for any information about it.

Being ignorant about something happens, it takes a special kind of person to be willfully ignorant.

Witches have been around for thousands of years, magic happens all the time.
