I make hairbows and sell them when I have time, and I learned the basics by purchasing some instructions on ebay for only $7.99. From there, it is basically all up to your own imagination and creativity. However, there are some additional Yahoo groups that are open to new members where you can pick up a lot of FREE techniques and ideas on hair bow making from the other members. Some active ones are Friendlyhairbowmakers and
Hairbow_how_to. I will include the links below.

If you can tie your shoes you can make hair bows.

Take an elastic band meant for hair.
Take any kind of ribbon, lace or alike.
Tie it round the elastic band, tie it in a bow.
Fix the knot with glue or a few stitches.
Cut the ends of the ribbon in a nice shape if needed.

You can also add the bows to clips, glue them on or tie them round the part sticking out of the hair.

Have a look at all the hair decorations in the shops for more ideas.
But also check the price of the ribbon and elastic bands against the price of the ready made ties, as they can be rather cheap if you go to the right kind of shops.
