I like to use the Delta brand. Delta Ceramcoat Acrylic is flexible and washable But of course use the right paint for the fabric. Are you using cotton, silk? If the material is wrinkle resistant it wont hold the paint.
Always pre-wash the fabric and press to remove any wrinkles.Delta makes stencils, and mediums just for fabrics.Good luck.

I buy plain ordinary artist acrylic paint and a bottle of fabric medium. Just a few drops of the medium mixed into your paint will thin it a bit and help adhere it to the fabric. Let the finished fabric dry 24 hours then iron the hell out of it. I painted a shirt and cotton jacket over 15 years ago. I've washed them both over a dozen times and there's only one spot where the paint cracked at all.

You can use fabric paint or airbrush paint. Both can be found at art or craft stores.
