Not as bad as the Taiwanese.
Apparently some super wealthy businessman enjoy eating human fetuses.
(Of course all Taiwan denies this frantically, but its true!)
Makes eating dog seems like no big deal!!!

Yes, slaughtering sheep, goat, bull etc is the same as slaughtering dogs. The problem is that we have been programmed to think that dos meat should not be eaten. But if it does not voluntatilry come back, why shouldn't I eat it?
I believe that there's nothing wrong with them eating dog. And honestly, if I have a chane to taste it - I would. I only don't eat things that make me sick or not tastefull in my mouth!!!

I guess there is an argument that a dog is just another farm animal. But farm animals are slaughtered humanly.
I saw a documentary on TV not so long ago and the way they are reared (in tiny cages) and slaughtered leaves much to be desired in the humanity stakes.
I would not be able to do it unless for absolute survival.

In the Western culture we think of dogs as pets and friends so it tends to be frowned upon to eat their meat. Is it wrong though? No. It's just as wrong to eat dog as it is to eat horse, cow, cat, pig, chicken, etc... It all depends on where you were raised on this planet. Every culture has their own beliefs and taboos and none of them are better or more right than any others.

I also think it is disgusting. We were not brought up that way to eat our pets. Many South African will also not eat horse meat at all however, I attended a conference in Geneva and had lunch at a restaurant. Most of the menu's are in French and being unable to speak French, I ordered some steak believing it is beef. I learned later that it was horse meat and must admit that it was tasty. Will i eat horse again ...... Not out of free will i guess.

Forgot the name of the British guy who went to explore South Pole decades ago with a bunch of dogs. When he got into trouble, he ate some of his dogs to survive. It's just a Western culture to see dogs as pets or "family members", in other parts of the world, dogs are just like any other farm animals.

About 2 years ago while backpacking through Vietnam I woke up during a overnight bus trip. It was about 2am and we were at a road block. The truck parked next to us was packed to the brim with dead dogs. They told me that it was a delicacy. Earlier that previous night we stopped at a roadside "restaurant" and there was only one thing on the menu... "Meat" with rice. It smelt like wet dog but I was told that it was pork but the guy that sold it to us had the biggest smile on his face. I'm 99% sure it was dog, I was starving so I ate it. Meat is meat... You would be surprised what you find on the menu there. I guess its all part of the experiance.
**EDIT**
I have 3 Chows and I'm told that "Chow" is a Chinese word for food...
**2nd EDIT**
"the name Chow Chow means “edible dog of China.” Historians assert that the Chinese and Koreans specially bred these dogs as an epicurean delight, whose specialization was Chinese history, claimed to have found 25 restaurants in Canton serving Chow Chow meat on the menu."

I have not had the opportunity to taste dog, so I can only discuss the principle.
I am slowly moving away from eating any sentient beings, but currently my preference in meats solely depends on fat levels and the GI index (My doctor has me on a low-GI diet).
SO yes, I will eat dog as long as it is not too high in unsaturated fats.

I think its disgusting aswell. It might have something to do with the way we were brought up - dogs are viewed as pets and cows for example is seen as giving us milk and meat.

I think the animals we find acceptable to eat is a cultural thing and what's disgusting to us may not be to others.
Just think of what devout Indians think of people who eat cows.
